San Floro

Departure by minivan for San Floro. After a short visit to the Silk Museum in an ancient 14th century castle, which preserves ancient damasks, recipe books for natural dyes and tools for silk processing, we will take a walk along a path in the heart of an adult pine forest. Here we will admire a mulberry grove, an intensive cultivation of 3,500 plants that offers silkworms its leaves and humans the “Mulberry”, a particular fruit that ripens between the end of May and the beginning of June each year, which can be enjoyed fresh or as delicious jams. During the unraveling of the cocoons you can admire how several silk threads, joining together, form a single thread over 2km long. The experience ends with an organic lunch, a mix of flavors and aromas that will inebriate the tastes of visitors.
