DAY 1: LAMEZIA TERME – BADOLATO

Benvenuti in Calabria! Upon arrival at Lamezia Terme International Airport you’ll be welcomed by your private driver, who will bring you to Badolato. After the check-in at the carefully restored, historic properties in the “albergo diffuso” in Badolato our tour starts right off with an easy walk with your native local guide. He will reveal you Badolato’s culture, architecture, natural and political history and tell stories about the calabrian people and their traditions. Discover little narrow streets and hidden corners that gives Badolato a special charm. Get immersed directly in the life of the locals. Enjoy a delectable welcome dinner  at “Catojo dello Spinetto”, a local restaurant in an old cellar where you get to find out more about the itinerary of the week. Overnight.

DAY 2: BADOLATO

After breakfast meet your private driver and local guide and start the day with a visit to the ancient  Franciscan monastery of “Santa Maria degli Angeli” followed by a an experience to “Cirimingiano” winery, located up on the hills of Badolato. Enjoy a light lunch with local organic products and wine tasting in a magnificent court yard overlooking the mediterranean sea and the old medieval village of Badolato. After lunch to your accommodation.  Time to relax and free evening. Overnight.

DAY 3: OLIVE HARVEST EXPERIENCE

After breakfast start your “out of beaten path” trip in the countryside. You will experience an olive-harvest day with the owners of the farm & olive grove. You will also learn some calabrian typical recipes using olives. Typical lunch on the land and under the olives trees. Relaxing time. In the afternoon we will head to Simona’s home to enjoy a homemade pizza cooking lesson at “Casa di mia Mamma”. Transfer back to your accommodation and overnight.

DAY 4: GUARDAVALLE

After breakfast meet your private driver and transfer to a local Farmhouse & Masseria in Guardavalle for a visit at the groves and “Museum of rural culture”. Workshop of  “fresh handmade pasta” and lunch based on genuine homemade food by Nonna  Vittoria.  Relaxing time. Transfer back to your accommodation and free time to relax. Overnight.

DAY 5: SERRA SAN BRUNO – OLIVE HARVEST EXPERIENCE

After breakfast we head to Serra San Bruno, home of the famous Certosa di San Bruno. Guided tour of the historic center and the Baroque churches of San Biagio, of Dell’Addolorata and Dell’Annunziata. Lunch in a local restauarant based on porcini mushrooms. In the afternoon we continue to the countryside of  Badolato to experience the farmers’ lifestyle picking the olives day with the owners of the farm. Visit to a local oil-press and taste some extra virgin olive oil. Overnight.

DAY 6: SOVERATO – SAN FLORO

After breakfast we will head to Soverato for a nice walk through the local food market, offering a chance to purchase typical regional products and souvenirs. Soverato boasts one of Calabria’s most renowned seaside promenades, nestled along the Ionian Sea and surrounded by picturesque villages with pristine white sandy beaches. Enjoy a leisurely aperitif at one of the local clubs along the promenade, and continue to San Floro, a charming village surrounded by lush green hills. Here, a dedicated group of young Calabrians has revitalized the age-old tradition of silkworm breeding, making it their primary focus. They’ve created a harmonious blend of craftsmanship, culture, art, and culinary delights. Our day in San Floro start with a lunch featuring locally sourced organic products, celebrating the region’s rich agricultural heritage. After lunch , we’ll stroll through the Mulberry orchard and wrap up our guided adventure beneath the canopy of a centuries-old pine tree. We finish our journey with a visit to the Silk Museum inside the historic castle before returning back to Badolato. Rest the evening at your leisure to relax. Overnight.

DAY 7: BIVONGI – STILO

Breakfast and transfer to Bivongi to experience an original wine trekking through the “Valle dello Stilaro”. Wine tasting of Bivongi DOC at Cantine Murace winery and visit of the famous byzantine church “La Cattolica di Stilo”. Return to your accommodation to relax before we will conclude the evening with our farewell dinner at “Catojo dello Spinetto” in the historic center of Badolato with a dinner featuring local specialties and, of course, some Calabrian music. Overnight

Day 8: BADOLATO – LAMEZIA TERME 

After breakfast, it’s time to go back! A shuttle takes you to the Lamezia Terme International Airport by 10 a.m. for your return flight. Arrivederci
